International Nurses Day 2025: TNAI and Global Nurse Force Honour India’s Nursing Heroes and Expand Global Career Pathways

150 nurses from 27 chapters convene in New Delhi; new partnership promises ethical, zero cost routes to leading hospitals worldwide.

Denik agaj india New Delhi, 24 May 2025 The Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), celebrating International Nurses Day at India Habitat Centre, Delhi where Global Nurse Force remained an integral part of this celebration. The programme drue more than 150 nurse leaders, educators and frontline professionals representatives TNAI state Chapters underscoring India’s unified commitment to nursing excellence . During the event the GNF representatives has showcased its 20 years legacy and impact as well as the existing nurses opportunity in USA. Alongside GNF Career Pathways – The training and Capacity building wing also highlighted the upskilling opportunities and ethical pathways to the nurses.

Observed annually on 12 May — the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale — International Nurses Day was first marked by the International Council of Nurses in 1965 to honour nurses worldwide. Over the decades, it has evolved into a global platform for advocating professional excellence, celebrating innovations in patient care and campaigning for investment in nursing’s future.

Centred on the International Council of Nurses’ 2025 theme – “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies.” – the event called for sustained investment in nurses’ welfare, professional development and recognition as a driver of national health and economic resilience.

Presiding over the ceremony were Dr Dipika Cecil Khakha, Nursing Advisor to the Government of India (Chief Guest), and Prof (Dr) Bimla Kapoor, Chairperson, National Nursing and Midwifery Commission (Guest of Honour). Addressing the gathering, both dignitaries applauded TNAI’s legacy of advocacy and highlighted the Government’s upcoming initiatives to bolster India’s 3.3 million strong nursing workforce.
